5/5/2019View the sites AREAVIBES.com and USA.com for their statistical value. Crime here seems much higher than should be. Apparently drugs and lack of meaningful good pay jobs for the young people. Study the crime map too on TRULIA.com for this place - very revealing.

Rampant Growing Crime -
5/5/2019I don't reside here and after searching for a place to relocate to, I find the nice quiet suburban streets don't reflect the crime, although beautiful Black Diamond and Citrus Hills are included - both seem very safe and upscale. Drugs here and lack of meaningful quality employment fro young people seem to be the main problem. I've read 1/3 of the residents are below the poverty level. Again, you have to separate the BD and CH areas I mentioned above for the far better exceptions.

A Place to Avoid -
5/5/2019You can do better than this place. Nothing at all distinctive about it. Excellent police department and it has to be since only four miles from the sanctuary welfare city of Newburgh and all the underclass there. Extreme traffic most of the time. Can be considered a gateway I suppose, to far better places in the Hudson Valley. The quality of life here is not worth it for the taxes paid.

3/14/2014Yes, I've researched the Alabama tax structure and am very impressed; I plan a relocation to NE Alabama hopefully this year when I can escape from NY. Is Lake Guntersville suitable for swimming? A search on City-Data.com reveals some possible toxic waste issues on the eastern side of the peninsula. Also, any comments about the "guest workers" (polite term) at the poultry plants in nearby Albertville and crime in an area known as The Hill? I'm also concerned about tornado activity in that larger general area such as hit Arab a few years ago and Ft Payne recently.

3/14/2014Cultural Activities? Newburgh? Best features of your article were I-84 and I-87 as escape routes from this city and NY state. Maybe a location for those who view NYC as the center of the universe (I don't) but with some research and courage to leave, one can do much better than this area.
