2/20/2019I relocated to Oregon five years ago for all of same reasoning as you. Ended up in Eugene. Winters are still tolerable but summers in 90s and even 100s too often in last 3 years; global warming? No such thing as low reasonable rent in Oregon any more; entire state is in a rental housing crisis because of extreme population explosion caused by unrealistic socialist attitudes of State and municipal governments. Health care is overabundant but also overwhelmed so short of "good." Everything else is here however. As for Bend, it is an over-priced tourist trap; smaller towns in same region as Bend may be worth looking at however.
