The Real Silicon Valley -
9/29/2008This is the city of innovation and doing things right. When people talk of Silicon Valley, this is where they are talking about. Much of what makes the city work so well for business and home life is a City that truly cares about what it does and how it does it. City leaders are at the top of the list when it comes to being prepared and knowing what is important in a high tech area that must be aware of its place in the ring of fire.
The cost of living is a bit steep, and that would be the only thing I'd say would be a negative on the list of things to say about Santa Clara. In every other respect it has everything going for it.
Lewiston, ME
Positive Changes -
9/29/2008The City of Lewiston has changed considerably over the years and has corrected many of the negative aspects that used to define it. While much of the neighboring areas have not yet fully realized this, local businesses, schools, and residents have all seen and felt the changes. Downtown had cleaned up, public theater is doing well, and business seems to be growing. The Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce is the perfect bellwether for this change. The chamber is active and growing which has a most positive influence on the area.
Having spent the past six years looking at the cities in Maine from a Californian's perspective, Lewiston is the place to be and where things are happening.
