3/28/2008This is for Burt. Safe Schools? Really? Let's see, last year in Wake County Schools there were over 534 gang related incidents. They are "considering" spending millions on extra police forces in the school. Really think that's safe enough for your children Burt?!
Now why are they just "considering" this? Gotta love these people. Look up your facts on the
internet Burt. Oh and I don't care how many northerners are living here, the mentality still exists.
Southerners are as welcoming to Yankees as VD. Some of them are nice, I am not denying that, but a general jealousy exists. Right now I'm too busy to rebut further, but I will when I have time.
Oh and by the way my house is on the market. I am dying to get out of this overdeveloped, crime ridden, small minded, overpriced, over rated, over run by illegals, no water, nightmare of a town.

2/7/2008and don't forget the nasty bugs, roaches,deadly spiders,poisonous snakes,billion mosquito's,and most of all, the abundance of inbred rednecks and their sleazy porn stores (BIBLE_BELT , HUH ?).It,s a really great place to raise your family!!!!! Most important of all . Southern hospitality my A!!!!! .I am very proud to say that i am giving up my hard built home improvement business and leaving this nightmare experience behind me and moving back north . Southerner,s can gladly keep their dried up muddy lakes, mexicans and ignorance,s. Do your home-work,this town has far too much brushed under the carpet. 2/7/2008I don't think there's a problem with Hispanics as you say, but the illegal Mexican problem has
gotten a lot of people very angry. Our schools are overcrowded and they are contributing to that
as well as the gang violence in the highschools. I'm from NY so I know the difference, southerners
are not very bright when it comes to classifying nationalaties. The majority of them don't know their own. They call themselves Southern and thats it. I don't think you should have a problem as long as your legal, speak the language, and be prepared to do the work of 3 people; just the way southerners like it.

to use your indicator? I believe it too about the "illegals" People from Raleigh can't resist a good deal when it comes to someone working for them. They lost their slaves, but now they have found replacements.

2/3/2008You bet it's a legitimate concern. You will be treated as a Yankee when you move here. I encountered so much bitterness in the workplace and in general. If you make a suggestion about anything, you are considered rude. I grew up in New York, where if you didn't like something you stated it. You knew where you stood. The "southern mentality" is to be polite to your face, and then cut you up behind your back. I am looking to relocate. My old boss said that she visited Florida, (Disney World). I asked her nicely did she like it? She replied not really "too many Yankees"

2/3/2008Very disappointing place to live. We moved here because an almanac said how wonderful it was for working
mothers, culture scene, weather, employment, etc. It was voted best city I believe for working mothers. Let's take into consideration what no book tells you. The attitude of the people. Being Yankees from New York we are treated as such. They still carry the old grudge of north versus south. It is a beautiful state, with opportunities for employment, but it is definitely losing its appeal. Many companies and apartments are being built, and the trees are being cut down. Raleigh is now becoming a place for businesses and apartments, not family homes. In the past 4 years, we have seen the landscape of our area go to absolute hell. We are looking to relocate. May be a good area to live if you
are Mexican. There are many moving down here, and the Mexican Community is becoming stronger.
