Minneapolis, MN

Twin Cities in general...
- 3/24/2006
I actualy grew up in CA then moved to WI, and I've been living in MN for 8 years now. I will tell you this about MN: everything is great EXCEPT for the obvious. It gets very, very cold here! Every winter comes and that's when I start wanting to move elsewhere. The spring and summer is very short and it is very rare that we will get a nice, sunny day comparable to CA's. Winter is cold and long, spring seems to start like in May and ends a week after, summers are very short and can be very humid.

Despite all this MN is beautiful because we have the lakes to be thankful for. I went back to visit CA and boy it is so dry there in the summer! They would kill (or man make) a lake like ours. MN is very lush and green in its short summers and we are not as dirty as all the other cities that I've seen. MN is very diverse. Unlike CA where you have to drive to LA to San Fran to anywhere else, you get it all here in the Twin Cities and its surrounding suburbs. They are not very far from each other. Different ethnicity, rich or poor, gay or straight it is all here.

Our economy is strong. We have some of the best companies in the U.S. headquarted here. It's a great area to start a business and find your wealth. The suburbs are great to raise a family.

I would love to stay here if it weren't for the dreadful winter. Be like the rich...find or build your wealth here...then build a house on Lake Minnetonka and go away during the winter to your 2nd or 3rd home in Florida or some other place that's warm. That's the only way to get the best of both worlds!
