re: Cost of living

5/22/2019Caldwell is growing and progressing into a nice mix of old traditional and new contemporary. It’s a family friendly place to live. The cost of living here is lower than most of the treasure valley. You do get more for your money here. On the down side, with all the growth and new homes going in, the newer area near Sage middle School is lacking in services. After another 1,500 more homes go in it’s going to get worse. The area needs a new Fire department/EMS, sheriff sub station, added family restaurants, a city park, bike lanes along UStick, large grocery-drug store. With road improvements, added lanes and right turn lanes. One would expect the builders/developers to be responsible for a significant amount of some of these needs. Passing everything onto home buyers is ridiculous. The increases in taxes and bonds would make the area and city much less desirable. Since Canyon County and the city of Caldwell, has and continues to approve the development and building. Then they also need to provide and encourage the needed services families want and expect.
