Kennewick, WA

Great place to live! - 10/15/2009
When I first came to Kennewick, I didn't think I would end up moving here, let alone stay here for the last 18 years! The town has grown a lot since then and it remains a great place to live. The cost of living is low, the housing market affordable, there are good jobs available. I love the hot summers. Winters can get a little chilly and occasionally we get some snow (which I love) but we get a lot more sunshine than rain. There's also plenty to do here; water sport, wine tours, fishing, etc. Of course there's the annual hydroplane races, awesome fireworks on the fourth of July, haunted corn maizes in October, the county fair in August, Christmas bazaars and lighted boat parades on the water in December, and more. Plenty of shopping too! We have a very nice mall, big stores like Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, Home Depot, Lowes, Office Max, Best Buy, Fred Meyers, Macy's, JC Penny, Sears, and lots more. Grocery stores like Safeway, Albertsons, Winco, Yokes, etc. Many stores are open late and some 24hrs. There are also three large movie theaters in the Tri-Cities (which feature large digital screens and sound systems and comfy seats). Great restaurants of all varieties. Still, with all this, there's not too much traffic and the people are friendly enough. Indeed a great place to live!
