Cooper City, FL
Great schools, parks, close to everything -
1/24/2022We moved here in 2018. I have to say, having lived all over the world, this is the best place if you can afford it. The only downside is the cost of living is high. For our kids, this is truly an amazing place of opportunity. Our kids bike to school every day of the year, four of them by themselves. They pack ponchos for rain. High school, middle school and elementary schools are all top notch. All of our kids have made great friends here and we in turn have befriended the parents. The cultural diversity is 2nd maybe only to LA and New York. We have friends from Trinidad, Venezuela, South Africa, Cuba, England, Bangladesh, you name it! We went for a bike ride over the weekend and discovered that 3 miles away is a guy who raises camels! There are plenty of good restaurants in Cooper City. But if you want to out for a night on the town, Miami is just minutes away. Fort Lauderdale is even closer. Want to see the Everglades? 20 minute drive. The weather is south Florida. So, yeah it's hot in the summers. But the ocean keeps the highs and lows much more moderate than central Florida.
The parks in Cooper City are abundant and well-maintained. Broward county I think has around 300 parks. Our kids play tennis, volleyball and soccer year round. The beach is 25 minutes from our house.
The city gets permits done fast and keeps things clean and safe. I guess every place has crime, but we haven't seen it in our little town.
In summary, if you have kids, worth it x100. If not, look in Davie or other places nearby that are more affordable.
