Searcy, AR | 1 Review(s)

I have lived in five states...all in the cental U.S., but have travelled abroad a great deal since a young age. I believe that one needs to travel to see how big the world really is. There is much more than our little lives and it is healthy to remember that. My educational background is in both nutrition and dentistry. After living in the Kansas City Metro Area for 23 years, I have moved back to Searcy, Arkansas (where I lived for 11 years previously).

Searcy is a Great Place to Live - 5/17/2008
Approximately two years ago I moved back to Searcy. I lived here for 11 years previously. After living in the Kansas City metropolitan area for 23 years, I was concerned about moving back to a city of approximately 20,000. It has been a very good experience. Searcy has a lot of growth going on now. There are new stores and restaurants going up regularly. Main Street has a beautification plan that is going strong. The campus of Harding University is now undergoing a facelift as well. There are homes in virually every price category that are available. The schools are excellent as are the healthcare facilities. The slower pace has been a difficult adjustment, at times, but the slower pace of life is less stressful. I have found people very friendly, helpful and kind. A total stranger once gave me a ride when I knocked on her door to ask to use her telephone to call for a locksmith. (I had locked my keys and phone in my car.) Now, that is what I call a great neighnorhood!
