Meadville, PA

Gloom n Doom - 6/23/2007
What a lie!!!!!!!!
Crawford County is a joke!
Perfect example from the other post. They find humor living off of other people. And are so proud of it! Wooohoo you can sit around eating wings, drinking beer, and bowl....please! Like I said, living off someone elses money because most are to lazy to work. Meadville is a town full of people with no pride. Most ARE living off of ex husbands and or the system or both...Most are on both!
The Northwest part of PA is just filthy, and Meadville is the filthiest!
That whole area is "GLOOM N'DOOM!"

Erie, PA

Drury Erie!
- 11/21/2006
This area is not beautiful at all!!!! It's the druriest place I have ever had to live. The people have a very cold personality, I mean what can you exspect from such an drury place. I think the town of Erie is dirty looking, somewhat like Pittsburgh but not as bad (really old looking also!). To me it was kind of scary being downtown, you know that uneasy feeling. They do have a really good comedy club there. Lots of diversity there. Presque Isle was pretty nice, but Waldameer is a little whole in the wall amusement park. Just like every other place if your not from there, your not going to want to spend the rest of your life there...trust me! Last note: "THANK GOSH I DO NOT LIVE IN PENNSYLVANIA ANYMORE, AND NEVER WILL AGIAN!!!!!!!!!!!"

Cambridge Springs, PA

Living in the Snow Belt
- 11/21/2006
If you like shoveling alot of snow, then this is the place for you. Cambridge Spring's water is so expensive for such a small town (like around: $80.00-120.00 a month if not more). The property prices are also outrageous for such a small town. Over all it's a somewhat cute town, some nice houses, some nice neighbors etc.......It does have it's fare share of road kill all around, which is so sad. I guess they just leave what they hit on the side of the road for next season. Yes if your a bambi lover this would not be the area for you (LOTS OF DEAR!). Oh not that many local restaurants either, you'll have to drive to another town for those. They do have one local grocery store and a Dollar General and a gas station...........

Siesta Key, FL

I Love Siesta Key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- 11/11/2006
PRO'S: Beautiful Homes, One of the most Beautiful beaches I've ever seen, Alot of good Restaurants, A real Island kind of Atmosphere etc.....
CONS'S: In the summer they seem to have a problem with RED TIDE, so if your a snorkeler this can be a burden. Hard to get a parking spot anywhere, because it's a real popular place to be. Best get there real earling in the morning, because trying to get a parking spot on Siesta Beach is really hard.....Final note* Siesta Key is a magical place and so Beautiful!!!!

Lafayette, IN

Home Sweet Home!
- 10/20/2006
I wonder if anyone remembers the old round pool @ Columbian Park. Meet you at Arni's or even Pizza King with the locomotive train that brings you your drinks. The Legendary Frozen Custard by Columbian Park. And last but not least McCord Candies downtown, makes the best egg salad sandwhiches. There are others to whom they have there favorite things about Lafayette. Lafayette is a very nice place to raise a family. There are alot of differnt sports for your children to be envolved in. The town does have alot of team spirit whatever school your kids go too. I know the traffic isn't the greatest anymore, you gota know them backroads to get to places quicker;-) The worst thing is the roads State RD 26 & 52 are horrific. If they would keep the roads paved it would be almost perfect there. Oh by the way, the best part of Lafayette to live in is the south part. My best wishes to all!!

Tampa, FL

Better Have A Big Bank Account!
- 10/19/2006
Hillsborough County, what a place. Everything that everybody has been posting is true about Tampa. Worst crime, worst traffic, worst housing market, Red-Tide etc etc......But the WORST thing is the health care system. I'll give you an example: My mother-inlaw moved down with my husband and I spring of 05. Found here a nice apartment in the Sun City area... She was living off of SS(widows benefits) getting around $988.00 a month. She needed to get medical assistance from medicaid, since she was on a limited budget. She had Multiple Myloma(spelling?)(Infences on had, since she past 6 months after moving here!) Anyway, medicaid told her and my husband and I that she would have a deductible of $800.00 a month to be on medicaid. Mind you that she only makes $988.00 a month on SS. My husband blurted out: "What she suppose to live in a card board box just to have medical attention." I'm telling you the whole sitution was sicking and very sad...I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the idea. Florida is way over-rated. I can live without warm weather almost year round. My husband and I can't waite to get back up North. The sooner the better!!!!!!!!

This place is a joke!

Crawford County period is a JOKE! If your one of those woman who don't want to work and live off your ex-husband(s), this is the perfect place for you. And men beware that if you decide to settle here and have a family, it's in your best interest not to ever get a divorce. Unless, you want to pay an ungodly amount of child support and alimony in a crappy economy area. Get your card board box ready, because that's where you'll be living. I sware the name of this town should be Mead-EVIL-Ville!!!!!!

Brandon, FL

UGH!
- 10/18/2006
Brandon is so congested. I think even if they had 20 lanes on each Causeway and 60, it would still be congested. It does have alot of stores, but NO Fifth Third Bank, so the drive to Bloomingdales or the Ybor area is a big headache unless you leave really early or maybe in the middle of the night to avoid the traffic. I don't like it here! I don't want to live somewhere that you feel like not even leaving your house, because you don't want to get caught in heavy traffic. Also, the cost of living in Florida is ridiculous! I'm so ready to go back up north, the sooner the better!

Carmel, IN

Coming Back Home To Indiana!
- 10/18/2006
Indiana girl living in Florida now...Oh ya how bad we want to get out of Indiana when we were younger. But after being out of Indiana for a couple of years now, I'm so ready to move back home. Here's Florida...Diversity all you can handle, high property taxes(EVERYWHERE, not just beach front!) a tool shed can run you over $350,00. Crime(the state I think with the most child molestors-sicking!) Granted the weather is warmer year round(soooo humid in the summer-which all you want to do is be in airconditioning always!) Oh ya I can't forget about Red-Tide that is always on the Gulf Coast. No fun swimming in Red-Tide. You want to talk about unfriendly people...Florida has lots of them. I lived in PA also for awhile same thing very unfriendly people compared to what I was use to in Indiana. The point I'm trying to make is: Appreciate Indiana, trust me there's no place like it. Carmel sounds like a wonderful community. Being from a college town in Indiana. Maybe some people like that safety bubble(as someone said on this message board- It's like living in a bubble). I know I'm coming back home soon!!!!
