Norco, CA

Life in Norco - 6/27/2009
I have lived in Norco for nearly seven years. Long enough to still have some equity. Norco is full of old timers who have lived here for the past forever. Fact is most of these folks grew up here. For example my all of my neighbors have been in town for at least 20 years some 40years or more. The real old timers are the ones who complain about the way Norco used to be. Yeah, that's right it used to be a real dump hole , but things are improving slowly, at least in the Old Town district. 6th street is much improved with new street lamps, a really nice country themed strip mall, plenty of tack and feed stores even a new vet hospital. It's like a little slice of the Midwest right here in So Cal. There are a lot of nice large lots. I have 1.4 acres. Love it. Lots of folks own animals and horses and such. Love it. Every street has a riding trail and folks still ride plenty. Norco is also close to jobs and shopping. No Norco is not a yuppie haven, but it should be. When I first moved here Mercedes Benz sent a flat bend for my scheduled service. My neighbor asked me if I was getting my car repossessed. No, not really. There are plenty of negatives for here but I like the Old Town area east of the 15 freeway off of Sixth St. That's the place to be for future appreciation (up on the hill or North of 5th st as well). I also like the country themed street (6th st), the August Rodeo, and the fact that the city, so far, vigorously defends your right to keep animals. It's probably not a place to aspire to but if you have to be out here in the Inland Empire and you want to have animals Norco has potential.
