Ironton, Missouri is a slice of heaven -
2/25/2023When we first moved here we heard locals say that Ironton, Missouri was our own little slice of heaven and after living here we can agree. We have found people here are generally nicer and happier than most cities in the United States. Ironton costs less than the average town to live in and we have gorgeous scenery. The weather isn’t too bad for a Midwest city and the quality of life here is pretty good. The town is safe and the schools are above average. Ironton has beautiful historic buildings and several events throughout the year. Some of the events include parades, music in the town square, farmers market, mountain biking races, and countless other hallmark movie worthy events. This is a family friendly town with countless activities for outdoor enthusiasts. Ironton has wonderful hiking, biking, fishing, and floating opportunities. Some of the best parks in Missouri are close by. Both elephant rocks state park and Johnson shut ins state park are a short drive away. There are several amazing restaurants in town, but if you crave more city life that is not too far away. Ironton has an Amtrak station in town and a hospital just a few minutes north. If you would like a peaceful small town with all the convenient basic amenities then this is a wonderful place to live. Anytime I drive into Arcadia Valley it feels like home.
