Joplin, MO

You know, i don't think that college helped a whole lot. your grammar sucks! Joplin isn't as bad as you make it out to be. It is considered part of the south, and some people do act like they are from the middle of southern swampy South Carolina, but not as blatant as Steve made it sound in his paragraph.

I personally know private pilots who make a good living. I myself do work in a factory, but it is also one of the highest places in the area. I also know several tradesmen from this area who travel to their jobs and do pretty well for themselves.

Joplin isn't as bad as Steve makes it out to be. Like every town there is going to be some sense of "ghetto-ness" with people on welfare and the other people that work part-time fast food for gas and cigarette money who do not care about bettering themselves.

Overall I would say joplin is an alright town to live in, especially after haveing been to Bakersfield, California every fall for several years for a former employer. I really don't know how a person can drive through the smog to go to work or the store or whatever this whiner does and complain about people smoking.

I think that Steve just likes to whine. I'm sure if someone asked him that he's have plenty to whine about in Bakersfield.

Kansas, KS

Well, not haveing lived in Kansas, I think that a different opinion might be nice for some people.

I live in Missouri, 19 minutes from Kansas. Literally. If I get off of I-44 and take the last exit toward Galena the first thing I see is the new casino with a very stupid round-a-bout right in the middle of a 60 m.p.h. road! They have another one just west of there, on the west end of Riverton. I don't know who decided to put them in, but I think that they should have their big toes cut off!

Seriously! Why would someone put something like that in the middle of a highway? And yes, roads like K69 are highways in Kansas. There is not much in the way of interstate highways in Kansas unless you enter into the state from Kansas City, Oklahoma, or Nebraska. Kansas is filled with two lane highways, that unlike some, I enjoy. I love looking at the scenery.

Kansas has some quiant widely unknown of attractions. Like the free zoo and park in Independence. It's a nice zoo with several different species of animals. The park right next to it has a train that gives people rides around the park and there are alot of toys for the kids to play on, including an out of service train engine. It's a place that my son and myself have enjoyed going to for years.

Kansas is full of farms and farmers. Everywhere you go people seem to have a sense of community. I went to a fair about an hour west of pittsburg and it was like an episode of Andy Griffith. Everybody seemed to know each other. It was nice to see that. You don't get to see that often enough any more.

Overall, I would say that Kansas is a nice state to live in.
