Life in Northville -
1/2/2012Northville is a fabulous place to live! Transferred from New England after researching on the internet. The rolling hills, green space, quaint downtown, and great school system sold me. Plenty of parks, walking trails, golf courses, shopping, and restaurants will appeal to young and old. Great school system with very involved parents. Conservative area with strong family values - 98% graduation rate with most destined for college - every holiday is celebrated with a traditional parade and band marching through downtown. Agree with previous comments it's a very safe place to raise a family - no crime except the occasional bike, golf clubs or radar detector stolen from an unlocked car or open garage. Fabulous location near freeways, Ann Arbor, airport, downtown Detroit. Also love proximity to Plymouth - a slightly larger downtown with all the amentities. Spring, Summer and Fall are beautiful. Summer temps mid 80's with low humidity. Winter is bearable - not extremely cold - no lake effect snow! My only complaint is that roads are not well maintained - snow/ice/pot holes are hazards - oh well can't have it all.
