a nice place for a small town person - 12/6/2008
For the most part people are friendly and considerate. Unfortunately, not much culture-but a good number of churches and a small "walk around" downtown area. However, the trade off is the wonderful varied mountain climate and the spectacular scenery. And, (compared to most of Ca.) living is realatively affordable. A great place for established adults- because it is somewhat isolated and you must like mountain driving.
