1/18/2011I have visited Savannah twice in the last 15 months, and I was thoroughly charmed by this beautiful, historic city. Now I am not naive, so I am aware that crime can be an issue, especially in certain areas. I live a suburb south of Chicago. I would love to be able to buy or rent a condo or townhome in the historic district, and spend the winter months there, maybe Jan thru March or April. Any suggestions or advice from anyone. Do people "SNOWBIRD" in Savannah?

What Mokena IL has to offer a young family. -
1/18/2011Mokena has a great school disrict if you are looking to raise your children here. Housing is medium priced, $200,000. to $350,000, but can go as high as a million. 30 minutes south of Chicago, MOkena has lots of everthing nearby.
shopping malls, less than 10 minutes away, and all the entertainment the city of Chicago has to offer. Museums, plays, sports, you name it. Low crime rate as well. I don't love the Chicago winters, but if you don't mind midwest winters, Mokena IL is a nice place to raise your family.
