Fantastic place! -
6/28/2007Carson City definetly has the hillbilly element, but if you can look beyond that, this is one of the best places to live in the country. We are in the valley right below Lake Tahoe, which is 15 minutes away. It is the most beautiful valley I have ever seen. There is a high population of pilots here because it is so spectacular to fly here. World class skiing is within 20 minutes in all directions, but we don't get dumped on down here like the higher elevations. Every other person has a boat because there are a LOT of lakes..Tahoe of course, but many more. Kayacking is within easy access too. Reno is 20 minutes away if you need city, without having to live in it. It's perfect weather most of the time. It is a true outdoor paradise.
