Weather - 8/24/2011
I have lived in Newport for approximately 10 years the weather is a constant factor in how you plan your day. Being on the coast the weather is fairly consistent it rains for 3/4 of the year you have to learn to carry a raincoat in your car wherever you go because you never know when a rainstorm will roll through. It is also always breezy or flat out windy. It is a very rare occasion when the wind isn't blowing in one form or another. there is also the Fog to contend with during the summer months the Heat in the valley area will pull the fog in over us and keep us cooler than the rest of the state which means much more tourists and day trippers coming into town to escape the heat. On the days when we do get sun we have an average temp in the high 50's to 60's we do occasionally get into the 70's and rarely we get into the 80's or 90's but it has been know to happen. When the sun does shine it is spectacular with the breezes blowing off the ocean it's not bad place to live you just have to learn to deal with Mother Nature at her finest here.
