9/17/2008OK people, if you "bad mouth Iowa" you "just need Jesus". Hopefully, I'll be forgiven then!!! This person also writes the following: "the qualify of life for a family here that wants to raise their children properly, with minimal crime is absolutely wonderful". Qualify of life? What's that? Should it not be "Quality"? I make no change to my comments about Iowa.....it's the laughing stock of the nation, and I am glad the Iowan's love it........................that means they'll stay there!!

1/29/2008Susan I think you are slightly confused. Des Moines is not diverse (it might be a good idea to brush up on some statistics). But I do agree with one thing, Des Moines is definitely a "simple" place, predominately due to its simple people, who are, unfortunately of simple backgrounds, which in many instances makes them pretty ignorant. By the way, Iowa has one of the biggest meth and domestic abuse problems in the USA. But of course, Iowans generally feel that crimes committed by the white majority aren't really crimes. Right Iowans? Why should we bring this fact to the fore? Let's keep it our secret! Yeah! Lets!

3/22/2007If you like cold, ugly cities, full of ignorant self-righteous Christians, then, yes, Des Moines is the place for you. And, low crime rate? Something that Iowan's LOVE to brag about! Iowa has the biggest meth problem in the country, and Des Moines has one of the highest number of domestic violance incidents in the country as well. But of course, that's not real crime is it? Real crime only exists in Detroit, Chicago, and all the other big cities that people in Des Moines so often critize. Des Moines? Get a life you soppy bunch of Iowans.....
