Kalamazoo Promise -
8/3/2006Too bad the Kalamazoo Promise was not available when I went to Loy Norrix. There were students who could have benefitted greatly from this opportunity. I hope students will not pass up the chance to make a better life for themselves.

Changes, changes and more changes. -
8/3/2006Change is great but only when it benefits everyone. The previous superintendent left a very large footprint which has caused the new superintendent to have a different vision. Our district has a limited number of school buildings to serve our growing community, which has made his idea of putting K-4 in three elementary school buildings difficult. These buildings are not equipped to handle the various needs of the individual grade levels. This is just one of several new ideas in the works. Hopefully, the community, which is very intrenched in "keeping up the old ways", can handle the changes proposed.
