why I moved -
5/8/2010The other message is correct. Springfield is a dump. The housing market has taken a nose dive yet the city still continues to give false housing values so we have to pay more property tax. The city charges an income tax, yet provides basically nothing. The police and fire pay is crappy. There are no jobs in Springfield. My husband and I moved back there after 20 years in the military and all we could get were part time jobs. Who can live on that. My son who is in college was getting 8 hours a week at his job and finally just quit. Look at the statistics. People are moving away in droves, the housing values are in the negative. There is nothing to do there except drive to Columbus, Dayton or Cincinnati. My family has retired there and if it wasnt for the fact that they can't sell their house, they would move. Aside from my family, the only good thing about Springfield, Ohio is IT in the rear view mirror. this is the gods honest truth, ask anyone? It is a $#!+hole.
