Dallas Racist? That's silly!! -
11/6/2007Saying that Dallas is racist is absolutely silly. I am a white woman married to a black man with mixed children and neither us or them have experienced any problems. In fact, half of my daughter's class at school are mixed children. White/hispanic, white/black, black/asian, and etc.... It is getting to be more common for a child to be bi-racial than not in my area of Dallas. Black and white leaders debate each other all of the time in every city. We travel alot and I could easily name other major cities where the looks we get as an interracial couple are far worse than we have ever seen in Dallas. Dallas is a great place to live, enjoy!!!

Dallas vs. Houston...........Dallas wins the title -
5/11/2007Having lived both places, I can easily say without a doubt that Dallas is the better city. Most people don't realize that the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex is the fourth largest metroplex in the United States. New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago are the top 3. The Houston metroplex is ranked number 9 and that even includes Galveston, which is really 30 minutes away from Houston. So Dallas-Ft. Worth is definitely the bigger metro area. Being bigger means being better......there is more to do, more neighborhoods to choose from, more jobs to choose from, and more culture. Really the only negative that Dallas has in comparison is that the crime rate is higher. If that is a big concern for you there are more than enough suburbs to choose from with lower crime rates. Houston is dirty, old, and has a small town mentality. Houston is run by old oil money, while Dallas is much more cosmopolitan. Dallas is really in a class of it's own when compared to any other Texas city. If you are wanting cowboy hats, conjested traffic, and smog choose the Houston area. If you want educated citizens, class, night life, open minded mentality, economic prosperity, job growth, and better weather choose Dallas!
