12/20/2017I picked up my daughter from SeaTac last night around midnight and mentally prepared to make our way south through the detours of the train derailment in Dupont. We live in Olympia and the only options to get home were through Gig Harbor/Shelton or Spanaway/Yelm, we choose the Spanaway route. Traveling through Spanaway round 1AM we attempted to find a restroom for my family to use at one of the business along Hwy 7. We were prepared to spend probably $20 with any of them for some beverages and late night snacks but every single business had fresh temporary printer paper signs taped to their door saying no public restrooms which of course was right next to their permanent sign of restrooms for customers only. It wasn't just one or two, we hit every 7/11 and every gas station that was open, seven of them in total and every single one of them turned us away.
Thanks for not supporting your community in a time of crisis Spanaway!!!
Never will I travel highway 7 through Spanaway again, never will I spend a dime of my money in this armpit of a community, and I plan to spread this word of negativity to everyone I know.
Run as fast as you can away from this community!
