Beavercreek, OH
Nice place to live -- but very conservative! -
12/27/2006I've lived in Beavercreek since 1970 and have found it a pleasant mix of country, suburb, business, and shopping. Property taxes are high, sales taxes are middling, and cost of living is fairly low compared to other parts of the country. We have no income tax right now, but there are discussions on instituting one to ease some of the tax burden that property owners shoulder. Housing in Beavercreek is a little higher than most (with a couple of exceptions) other suburbs in the Dayton OH area (average in the upper 100s). Schools are excellent. Biggest drawback to this area is that if you are not a religious conservative, you are VERY much in the minority. Schools, bookstores, libraries, etc. in this area reflect this on many levels.
