Expensive West Palm Beach suburb -
7/4/2010We moved west to Wellington from West Palm, hoping to leave the ghetto behind. Unfortunately it seems to be trickling in, and the questionable areas of Wellington continue to grow. There are people here who have way too much money, and then right around the corner from them is Section 8 housing. It was really nice when we first moved here about 5 years ago, and has progressively gone downhill, as the minority groups move in. Many crimes go unreported, so looking at the low crime statistics/rate may give you a false sense of security. It is really a shame, because there was a time that we thought we had moved to Mayberry. Just be aware, research the neighborhood thoroughly before you move, and lock up at all times. The "up" side? The village rec. programs are phenomenal, and there is a large christian population.
