??Armpit of NE?? -
3/3/2010Unlike some other writers, I have lived in many places in New England. Although the relative absence of wealth compared to it's surrounding towns stands out, however, Bridgeport is Far From the Armpit of NE. Like many other ex-industrial northeast cities it has it's problems, but the quality of life is not that bad. It's proximity to NYC and FF County's Gold Coast, along with relative affordability for young professionals make a decent place to bunk. There are good restaurants/bars, down to earth people and and a budding arts scene. If you want an armpit - try living in Worcester, Lowell, New Bedford.
