Conejos, CO is a small town located in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. The area has limited educational opportunities for its residents, but the schools in the district are highly rated and offer many resources. Conejos County School District RE-6J provides quality education to nearly 1,000 students across five schools, including two elementary (Conejos Elementary and Manassa Elementary), one middle (Conejos Middle), one high school (Conejos High School), and an alternative high school (Dolores Huerta Preparatory Academy). Each school offers a variety of programs that focus on college and career readiness. In addition to core subjects like math, science, language arts, and social studies, the district offers enrichment courses such as art, music, physical education, health classes, and foreign languages. There is also a range of extracurricular activities available at each school level to help students explore their interests and develop skills outside of the classroom. The district also works with local businesses and organizations to provide more real-world learning experiences for students. With strong support from parents and community members, Conejos County School District RE-6J works hard to meet its mission to “empower every student in our care to become a responsible citizen who will be successful in our ever-changing world”.
