Nevada County, Arkansas is a rural community located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. The county has a population of approximately 13,000 people and encompasses an area of 865 square miles. Healthcare resources in Nevada County are limited, and the primary care needs of its citizens are met by small local hospitals and medical facilities. These include Nevada County Hospital, Shiloh Medical Center, and Southside Medical Clinic. While these facilities offer quality medical services to address both acute and chronic health needs of those in the community, access to specialty care may be more difficult due to the lack of nearby tertiary medical centers. To make up for this gap in services, Nevada County has partnered with state and federal organizations to provide access to telemedicine programs that include specialty consultations from healthcare providers based outside the county. Additionally, there are numerous public health initiatives underway which aim to reduce disparities in health outcomes between social groups within Nevada County. These efforts focus on promoting preventive behavior among residents through increasing awareness about healthy practices such as physical activity, proper nutrition and avoiding risky behaviors like smoking or substance abuse.

The health of a city has many different factors. It can refer to air quality, water quality, risk of getting respiratory disease or cancer.
