Hope, AK is a small town located in Southcentral Alaska with a population of 105 people. It offers a unique Alaskan experience with stunning views of the Turnagain Arm and Chugach Mountains and abundant wildlife. In town, one can find local businesses that provide all sorts of goods and services including the Hope Diner, Hope Gas Station, Chugach Art Supply Co., and more. Year-round outdoor activities are popular here with fishing, camping, kayaking, hiking trails around the area, and even gold panning open to residents and tourists alike. There are several demographic organizations like the Hope Library Association and The Hope Historical Society which both work to preserve the town’s rich history. The community also hosts several events such as an annual quilt show in August and a Thanksgiving potluck dinner each November. Throughout the year sports tournaments bring teams from around Alaska to participate in volleyball – both indoor and sand court – basketball, softball, baseball, mud run races, kickball competitions and more.
