Huntsville, KS is a small rural town located in the northeast corner of Kansas. With a population of just 119 people, it is one of the smallest towns in the state. However, Huntsville offers great small-town charm with several local businesses and year-round outdoor activities for residents and visitors alike.
For shopping and dining options, there are several locally owned businesses such as The Corner Café where you can enjoy homemade comfort food or The Country Store where you can find unique items from home decor to antiques. There are also several sporting goods stores like R&R Sports which has everything you need for hunting, fishing, camping, and more.
For outdoor activities, there are plenty of options available including fishing on nearby ponds and lakes, hunting in some of the area’s best fields and forests, hiking trails through Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge or exploring Chisholm Trail Museum. In addition to all these activities there is also the Annual Fox Creek Festival that attracts visitors from across the region every summer.
The local community also offers many different organizations such as the 4H Club and Lions Club that offer volunteer opportunities throughout the year. And each fall brings a whole new set of fun with the Annual Huntsville Fall Fair that includes exciting activities like a tractor pull, carnival rides, games, live music entertainment and much more! Local sports teams include football teams from both elementary school and high school as well as baseball leagues for all ages. No matter what time of year it is there’s always something to do in Huntsville!
