When it comes to year-round outdoor activities in Monticello - the possibilities are endless. From snowshoeing or cross country skiing at Molunkus Lake Park in the winter time to swimming or kayaking at nearby Caribou Lake during the summer months, everyone can find something that appeals to them here in Monticello. Along with recreational activities offered by Molunkus Lake Park, there are also several organizations around town including The Monticello Historical Society who offer educational programs on local history and culture as well as a museum showcasing antiques from previous years.
When looking for sports events around Monticello - you won’t be disappointed! Every August there’s the annual Aroostook County Softball Tournament held right here in town with teams from all over Maine competing against each other for bragging rights! Baseball games throughout the summer months at Ouellette Field draw quite a crowd as well. For some winter sports fun make sure you check out Nordic ski races hosted by the second graders at Monticello Central School each February!
