Mount Tabor, NJ is a small, rural town nestled in the rolling hills of Morris County. With a population of 889 residents and a population density of 237 people per square mile, it is considered both quaint and friendly. Local businesses include The Pizza Stop, a family-owned pizza shop that has been around for over 30 years, and the Mount Tabor General Store which has been serving the community since 1908. Year-round outdoor activities in the area include hiking along nearby trails such as Jockey Hollow or Bee Meadow Park, kayaking on the Rockaway River, and skiing at Mountain Creek Resort in nearby Vernon. There are also various organizations to get involved with such as 4-H club meetings at the local library where kids can learn about gardening and animal care, or Boy Scouts Troop 1003 that meets every Tuesday night to go camping or build skills in photography, woodworking, or cooking. There are also many local sporting events throughout the year including everything from high school baseball games to ice hockey tournaments at Mennen Arena in nearby Morristown.
