Van Tassell, Wyoming is a small town with a population of only 16 people. This small community is located in Niobrara County and the Wyoming countryside provides an abundance of year-round outdoor activities for all to enjoy. Fishing, hunting, camping, horseback riding and snowmobiling are just some of the popular recreational opportunities that can be found nearby. The local businesses are mostly family owned and operated such as Thigpen’s General Store which has been around since 1947, offering the best in general merchandise and supplies. There is also an active youth organization called 4-H, which offers workshops and classes throughout the year on topics such as gardening, livestock management and natural resources conservation. Finally, Van Tassell High School hosts many exciting sporting events throughout the year including football, basketball and volleyball for the local teams.
