Laurens County, SC is ranked highly for its quality of life. According to BestPlaces, Laurens ranks in the top ten percent of counties in South Carolina for education, recreation opportunities, and health care. The county is home to a number of outdoor attractions including Musgrove Mill State Historic Site, Sumter National Forest, and several hiking trails. Education in the county is served by the Laurens County School District which operates seven elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and multiple preschools and alternative programs. Additionally, higher education is provided by Presbyterian College which offers degree programs in arts and sciences as well as nursing. Health care is provided through Self Regional Healthcare System which offers a wide range of health services at their main hospital located in downtown Laurens. Overall Laurens County provides residents with plenty of opportunities for both living an active lifestyle and achieving a high quality of life.
