Mount Carroll, Illinois is a small community located in Carroll County with a population of about 1,700 people. Despite its small size, this rural town has many churches that serve its faithful residents. On the north end of town sits the historic St. John’s Lutheran Church, which dates back to 1856 and is still an active part of the community today. On the south end of town is the United Methodist Church, which has been serving Mount Carroll since 1888. Further down South Main Street is Trinity Presbyterian Church, founded in 1901 and still an integral part of the community's spiritual life today. There are also several other smaller churches in the area that offer weekly worship services and special events throughout the year for members and visitors alike.
