Tecumseh, Kansas is a small town in Shawnee County with a population of just over 500 people. As such, it has limited religious congregations that serve the town’s residents. Among those churches are the Tecumseh United Methodist Church, Tecumseh Christian Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. The United Methodist church is an active member of the community, having been founded in 1892. They host weekly services and various other activities including Vacation Bible School for the children of the community. The Tecumseh Christian Church was built in 1895 and provides weekly Sunday services and Wednesday evening prayer meetings to members of their congregation. Lastly, St. Joseph Catholic Church offers morning Mass and special occasions like baptisms throughout the year. All three churches strive to build relationships within their congregations and have had success reaching out to both locals and visitors alike.
