Plain Center, SD is a small rural town with just over 200 people. Despite its size, Plain Center is home to two different churches that are located in the heart of the town. The first church is St. John Lutheran Church which was founded in 1884 and serves as a beacon of hope for many in the town. Every Sunday morning, parishioners gather here to worship and hear God’s word. The second church is Plain Center United Methodist Church which was founded in 1887 and has been providing spiritual guidance for generations of Plain Center residents. This church offers both traditional and contemporary services on Sundays as well as several other activities throughout the week such as Bible studies, youth groups, and prayer meetings. Both of these churches provide a much needed sense of community for those living in Plain Center and are a major part of what makes the town unique.
