Damascus, VA is a small town located in Southwest Virginia. It has a tight-knit community of about 1700 people who are proud to call it home. The town is close-knit and the people have strong ties to each other and their local religious congregations. There are several churches in Damascus that serve the spiritual needs of residents. Most notably, Damascus Baptist Church, which was founded in 1889, is still a mainstay in the community today. The church provides numerous services and programs for both adults and children including bible studies, youth groups, prayer meetings and more. Additionally, two other churches include Damascus Lutheran Church founded in 1891 as well as St Paul’s United Methodist Church established in 1915. These three churches provide a place for residents to come together for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
