Ira, IA is a small town in Cedar County, with a population of approximately 204 people. Despite its small size, there are several religious congregations that call Ira home. The main congregation is the First United Methodist Church, established in the early 1950s and located in the center of town. Additionally, there are two Lutheran churches within five miles of Ira — Trinity Lutheran in Bernard and Zion Lutheran in Clarence. Other denominations represented include Baptist and Catholic churches, as well as several nondenominational places of worship.
