Lawton, PA is a small rural town in the state of Pennsylvania with a population of approximately 838 people according to the 2010 United States Census. As such, there are only two local religious congregations in this area: Lawton Presbyterian Church and St. Johns United Methodist Church. Lawton Presbyterian Church was founded in 1886 and today serves the community's spiritual and emotional needs through worship services, youth programs, community outreach activities, Bible studies, weekly fellowship meetings and more. The church also offers an active Sunday school program for children. St. John's United Methodist Church was established in 1923 to serve the spiritual needs of the town as well. This church offers regular Sunday services as well as Christian education classes for adults and children every Wednesday evening. In addition, St. John's supports many mission trips each year throughout Pennsylvania and abroad to help spread God's love to those around us who need it most. Both churches provide an essential service to the community by providing spiritual guidance, fellowship opportunities and other forms of support for their members and Lawton's citizens alike.
