Derby, Colorado is a small town located in the northwestern part of the state, with a population of about 1,500. It has a low crime rate and is home to a variety of outdoor activities, making it an ideal place for families to live. The schools in Derby are top-rated and offer excellent educational opportunities for students. There are three local elementary schools (Heatherwood Elementary School, Valley View Elementary School and Cedarview Elementary School) that provide quality education to the growing number of children living in Derby. At the middle school level there is Derby Middle School which offers core classes as well as after-school activities such as band and athletics. The high school level includes Peak View High School where students can take advantage of college prep courses and participate in various clubs and activities. All of these buildings have recently gone through renovations or expansions to better serve the growing student population in Derby. With great teachers and staff at every level, all of Derby's schools strive to provide an enriching educational experience for their students.
