6/7/2011parentFabulous principal and VP. Teachers are great. Special programs daily include music, art, PE and Computer lab. After school program (ASP) and enrichment activities. Great, involved PTA. Large media center and extra online resources for parents and students. A great Cobb (Charter) school!
5/25/2011other I have been a volunteer at Addison for the past year and have seen first hand that this is an excellent school. Both of my grandchildren attend school here and although one had problems with his teacher, the other child's teacher was excellent. The Science Lab is the BEST EVER and the kids are very excited about learning. I love to be at the school and see what's going on. Good job!!
5/18/2011parentFor a public school, Addison is an excellent school! The teachers all care about their students and do the best they can to provide them with the best education they can offer. We have 2 students attending and so far have had great teachers who care and will put in the extra effort to help their students achieve their full potential.
3/13/2011parent I found the staff to be very unprofessional and rude. I pulled my child out of this school after only two weeks because I noticed how overworked and unconcerned the teacher was. She told me that because of budget cuts this was the biggest class that she had ever had and she had no time to help my son get transitioned into the school. Mind you he came from a small private school and was entering first grade. I was in tears when I saw how my son was so stressed and aggrevated when arriving home from school. The teacher then suggested that my son go to EIP because she didn't have the time to help him, he needed help getting use to their routine!!!!! I was floored because my child is bright , all he needed was time and encouragement. Obviously he wasn't going to get it at Addison. I have since been homeschooling and I am so happy with my decision, my son is reading wonderfully and is enjoying learning. Addison would have made my child feel like he couldn't accomplish when in fact he is very intelligent. Next school year we will go back to private school. Oh yes and I signed up three times for the PTA nad never received a call!!!!
11/16/2008parentThe teachers are outstanding, however the office staff is the worst ever. Not only are they ver disorganized they are rude.
11/2/2008parentVery unconcerned about children. Cares mostly about the wealthy in the area. Although some teachers are great, the office staff really pulls down the feelings of the school.
8/25/2008parentWe moved here from WI. This school has been nothing but outstanding. Student registration is a little different, but not hard. The class sizes are small. 18 at the max with 2 teachers per class, so it is actually 1 teacher for every 8 students. In WI it is nothing to have 25 student to 1 teacher with no teacher aide. OUR children went to a very affluent school district. WI has a lot to learn about what small class sizes can do for a child.
4/25/2008parent My children entered this school in 2008. We moved here from a different state. Enrollment is very lengthy. The teaching style is hands off, students learn on their own rather than making sure the children understand the material taught. Classrooms are crowded, the staff is not professional. This school has been a disappointment.
6/24/2007parentMy daughter has attended Addison for 5 years, and I have been fortunate to be able to be very involved during her time here. These teachers are truly dedicated to the kids, and work overtime if problems arise. Parent communication is excellent. The school itself is kept nicely and is constantly being upgraded...often times teachers and students can be seen side by side working on the beautiful landscaping. Accelerated programs are awesome. Parents are always welcome in the classroom, and many family events are planned throughout the year to bring the school closer together. We have been very pleased.
2/23/2006parentAddison has been a wonder for my children. I have one son who finished last year and one son who will be there one more year. The teachers are very dedicated to each student and strive to help the child achieve his best. I saw my youngest son went from below average in reading to above his grade level of reading in 4 months. She definitely brought out the best in my son and he's doing more than I had hoped for. That is alot to say about the teacher involved. Addison also has the ALP (Advance Learning Program) which really help bring out the kids' creativity, imagination, and social skills. I certainly recommend this school because of the wonderful teachers there.
6/5/2005parentThis is a Charter school and it excels in every way! The teachers are dedicated, hard-working and very positive. The atmosphere is welcoming and most parents are involved in some way with this school. As a teacher, I am VERY pleased to have my son attend this school and I could not be happier about his attitude and his achievements!
