Hilo, Hawaii is home to a variety of excellent public and private schools. The area has an array of schools offering a diverse range of educational programs to students from kindergarten through grade 12. These schools are made up of both high-achieving and low-performing institutions, but each one holds great potential in helping its students reach their goals. All the schools in the area are rated by the state board of education, which provides parents with an opportunity to research and compare different school options for their children. The schools in Hilo provide a range of extracurricular activities which foster creativity and give students the chance to explore different areas of academic interest. From music classes to robotics clubs, there is something for every student within the city limits. Furthermore, because most local schools have small student populations, teachers and administrators are able to give individual attention to each student's learning needs. This makes for an environment where students can truly thrive academically.
