Jasper, South Dakota is a small town with a population of about 1,200 people. Despite its size, it has several excellent schools that are highly rated and serve the local population. There are two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school located within the city limits. All four of these schools have been recognized for their commitment to providing an excellent education to the students who attend them. The elementary schools focus on the basic fundamentals of reading, writing, and mathematics while also providing students with access to music, art, physical education classes and other enrichment opportunities. The middle school provides an array of courses in science, social studies, health and more to help prepare students for success in high school. Finally, Jasper High School offers a wide variety of college-prep courses as well as advanced placement classes that allow students to get a head start on earning college credit. In addition to providing excellent academic instruction and opportunities for growth, all four schools in Jasper offer extracurricular activities such as sports teams and clubs that give students the chance to develop their social skills and explore new interests outside of the classroom setting.
