Brooks, California is a small rural town located in Colusa County. Despite its size, Brooks offers residents and visitors alike a variety of public transportation options from buses to bike-sharing to carpooling. The city’s major transit provider is the Westside Transit Authority which serves five cities in the area with three routes and thirty-eight stops throughout the city. In addition, the Solano County Transit provides bus services for school students living in Brooks as well as connecting local residents to nearby cities such as Vacaville, Fairfield and Vallejo.
The city also offers a bike-share program called Isidoro where cyclists can rent bikes on a daily basis for leisure or fitness purposes. As a part of this initiative, fourteen bike racks have been installed throughout the city to provide convenient access for users. Lastly, Brooks residents have the option of carpooling with commuters from nearby cities through an app called CarPoolNow which works by matching passengers with drivers who are heading to the same destination. This helps reduce emissions and traffic congestion in the area while making sure that people reach their destinations safely and quickly.
