Port Costa, CA is a small community located near the Carquinez Strait in Contra Costa County. Due to its location in a rural area, public transportation options are limited in comparison to larger cities. However, there are still several forms of transportation available for those who need to travel within or outside of Port Costa. The San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority provides two bus routes, including one that travels through Crockett and Rodeo on Highway 4 and another that travels from Hercules to Pinole. In addition, the WestCAT Lynx Express bus route connects Hercules with Berkeley via El Cerrito del Norte BART station. Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor Line also offers service between Martinez and Richmond – but does not stop at Port Costa. For those needing to travel farther away, Oakland International Airport is located about 37 miles south of Port Costa and provides access to domestic and international flights.
