Woodstock, CT is a small town located in the northeast corner of Connecticut. With a population of about 7,800, Woodstock offers its residents and visitors alike plenty of scenic views and outdoor activities. Although it is a small town, Woodstock does have several transportation options available for those who wish to get around.
The most popular form of public transportation in the area is provided by the Windham Regional Transit District (WRTD), which provides bus service throughout Windham County. The WRTD operates seven bus routes that serve Woodstock and the surrounding towns of Brooklyn, Canterbury, Ashford, Hampton, and Putnam. All buses are wheelchair accessible and offer discounted fares for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Additionally, the WRTD also provides paratransit services to certain areas that are not serviced by fixed-route buses.
For those looking to travel outside of town or out-of-state, Bradley International Airport (BDL) is located roughly 45 minutes away in Windsor Locks. The airport serves major U.S cities throughout the country including Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Ft Worth, Detroit Metro Airport as well as destinations abroad such as Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada and Shannon Airport in Ireland.
For those who prefer to drive themselves around town there are several car rental companies located nearby including Budget Rent A Car in Putnam and Enterprise Rent A Car in Willimantic. Taxis are also available in Woodstock if you’re looking for a quick ride or need to get around without your own vehicle.
