Yreka, CA is a small rural city located in the northern part of California and is known for its stunning mountain views and abundant outdoor recreational activities. The city has a population of around 7,700 people and is governed by a five-member City Council made up of elected officials. In Yreka, the political environment is overwhelmingly conservative and there are several local candidates running for office who represent the Republican party. The current mayor is Scott Ruppe, who was first elected in 2016 and recently reelected in 2020. Ruppe's platform focuses on enhancing public safety, investing in infrastructure projects to improve roads and bridges, and creating more jobs for local residents.
