Review of Yreka, California

Wanna' live here?
Star Rating - 10/7/2008
Wanna' live here? Hope you're ultra-conservative and prefer no growth whatsoever except for the size of your wallet. Enjoy lively communities? Stay away from Yreka. Enjoy diversity? Same thing. Go elsewhere. Enjoy the boonies? You'll feel right at home.

I have been to Yreka a few times, love the small town feeling, and I am conservative but also listen to differing opinions! I am thinking of relocating there as Salinas, CA where I am now is way too expensive, starting prices for a 2 bed one bath house is like $450,000 compared to homes I saw in Yreka, and in decent neighborhoods. I work as a service writer at a busy auto repair shop and Yreka has several I can apply to, and it is close to hiking, fishing and it snows a little!! So that to me sounds ideal for ME, NO place is perfect ,

Actually, I do enjoy the boonies. That's usually why people move to places like Siskiyou county - to escape the rat race in overpriced filthy cities like SF and Sac. The worst thing about Yreka is that it's in California.
