Spanish Fort, AL is a small town located along the eastern shore of Mobile Bay in Baldwin County. The city is home to just over 6,000 residents and is known for its quiet, rural atmosphere. Politically speaking, Spanish Fort has traditionally leaned conservative, with most of the elected officials representing Republican values. However, recently there have been more moderate voices added to the political landscape as well. Local issues that are important to Spanish Fort citizens include public safety, economic development and infrastructure improvements. Spanish Fort City Council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of every month to discuss city business and decide on policy changes. They are led by Mayor Mike McMillan who was re-elected in 2020 for his fourth term in office.
